App: Ssnnoozzee — Sleep & Snore Tracker Platforms: iPhone (iOS 17+) and Apple Watch (watchOS 10+)

1. Summary

Ssnnoozzee is designed to be private by default. Your sleep data is processed on your device and, if you use iCloud, syncs only to your own private iCloud account. We do not operate our own servers, we do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

In particular:

  • Audio recordings never leave your device. Snore audio clips are stored locally and are never uploaded to us or to iCloud.
  • We have no access to your data. We cannot see your sleep sessions, health metrics, recordings, or check-ins. They live on your device and in your private iCloud container, which only you can access.
  • No login or account. Ssnnoozzee has no user accounts. We never ask for your name, email, or password to use the app.

2. Who we are

Ssnnoozzee is operated by Ssnnoozzee (“we”, “us”, “our”), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy questions or requests you can contact us at:

For the purposes of the UK GDPR, Ssnnoozzee is the data controller for the limited processing described below. In practice, however, the app is structured so that personal data stays under your control on your own devices and iCloud account. If you need to reach us, please use the email above.

3. What data the app handles

All of the data below is created and used on your device. Unless stated otherwise, it is not transmitted to us.

3.1 Microphone audio (snore detection)

With your permission, Ssnnoozzee uses your iPhone microphone while you sleep to detect snoring.

  • Short audio clips of detected snore events are saved as files in the app’s private storage on your device.
  • Audio clips are stored only on your device — they are never uploaded to us and are excluded from iCloud sync.
  • Audio clips are automatically deleted after a retention period (30 days by default), which you can adjust in Settings.
  • The app also measures the ambient noise level (an approximate decibel figure) periodically through the night to describe room conditions.

3.2 Health and fitness data (Apple Health / HealthKit)

With your permission, Ssnnoozzee reads health metrics from Apple Health to analyse your sleep. These may include:

  • Heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV)
  • Respiratory rate and blood oxygen (SpO₂)
  • Sleep analysis / sleep stages (as computed by Apple)
  • Resting heart rate and walking heart rate average
  • Blood pressure (systolic / diastolic)
  • Body temperature and Apple sleeping wrist temperature
  • VO₂ max, active energy burned, step count, and mindful minutes

This data is read from Apple Health on your device to calculate your sleep report, quality score, baselines, and trends. Health data accessed through HealthKit is never used for advertising or marketing, and is not shared with us or any third party.

The app may also write the sleep stages it derives back into Apple Health so other apps can use them. You control all of this through the standard iOS Health permissions screen.

3.3 Information you provide

  • Morning check-ins: mood and energy ratings, and optional lifestyle factors.
  • Preferences: sleep goal, wake times, snore sensitivity, audio retention period, and similar settings.

3.4 Data the app derives

From the inputs above, the app generates and stores items such as sleep sessions, sleep stage timelines, snore events, quality scores, environment readings, and personalised insights.

3.5 Purchases

Premium features are sold as subscriptions or a one-time purchase through Apple’s App Store using Apple’s StoreKit. Apple processes the payment. We never receive or store your payment-card details. The app only checks Apple’s record of whether you have an active entitlement so it can unlock premium features.

4. How your data is stored and synced

  • On-device storage. Your data is stored in an on-device database (Apple Core Data) and as local audio files.
  • iCloud sync (optional). If you are signed in to iCloud, your sleep metadata syncs through Apple CloudKit to your own private iCloud database. This sync is end-to-end within your Apple account; we have no access to it. Audio recordings are not synced and stay only on the device that recorded them.
  • If you disable iCloud or are not signed in, the app simply stores everything locally on the device.

Your synced data is subject to Apple’s iCloud privacy and security practices.

5. What we do not do

  • We do not run our own servers that receive your sleep, health, or audio data.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not require an account, email address, or password.

Any diagnostic logging the app performs stays on your device (viewable only through Apple’s developer tools, e.g. Console) and is not collected by us.

You can grant or revoke any of these at any time in iOS Settings. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature.

7. Your choices and controls

Because your data lives on your device and in your private iCloud account, you remain in control of it at all times:

  • Export your data. Settings includes an option to export your sessions as a JSON file you can save or share.
  • Delete your data. Settings includes an option to delete all sleep data from the app. You can also delete the entire app, which removes its on-device data; data already synced to your private iCloud can be managed via iCloud.
  • Control audio retention. Adjust how long snore audio clips are kept (default 30 days) in Settings.
  • Manage permissions. Grant or revoke microphone, Health, and notification access in iOS Settings.
  • Manage subscriptions. Manage or cancel premium purchases in the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions

Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we do not hold your data on our own systems, you can exercise most of these rights directly within the app (export and delete) and through your device and iCloud settings. 8. Data retention

  • Audio clips: deleted automatically after your chosen retention period (30 days by default).
  • Other data (sessions, health-derived metrics, check-ins, preferences): kept until you delete it in the app, delete the app, or remove it from iCloud.

We do not hold copies of your data on our own systems, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on a server.

9. Children

Ssnnoozzee is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. International users

Your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account. Any cross-border transfer of iCloud data is handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and safeguards. We do not separately transfer your data internationally because we do not collect it on our own servers.

11. Security

Your data benefits from the security protections built into iOS, the device’s encryption, and Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit security. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but because your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud account, its protection is tied to the security of your device and Apple ID. We recommend using a device passcode and enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Ssnnoozzee after an update means you accept the revised policy.

13. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
